The renovation work, which began in March last year, has resulted in three new classrooms, a general purpose room and a library. Bail was refused at a special District Court sitting at the weekend to a man who has been charged in connection with an arson attack on the Monaghan Garda Station at the Plantation Road in Monaghan Town. A motor vehicle was driven through the barrier at the front of the station around 7 pm on Saturday evening last. The vehicle was driven to the public entranceway and subsequently set on fire. Rebecca Sweeney competed in the World Dance Masters Championships which took place in Blackpool, UK, and wowed the judges with three different types of dance.
