In 2016, Monaghan Sports Partnership launched the ‘Walk the Earth’ programme for primary schools in County Monaghan. From October 2016 to January 2017, over 800 pupils in 11 primary schools have accumulatively walked over 20,000 kilometres (halfway across the world!!!). THE brothers and sisters who were victims of a litany of sex offences, including rape, carried out on them by a man living in the Cootehill area have called on anyone who has had similar horrific experiences to come forward and seek help from either the Garda or other support agencies. Combilift, the Irish manufacturer of multi-directional forklifts based in Monaghan has signed a contract with Kingfisher, Europe’s largest home improvement retailer worth an additional €1m to deliver 50 Aisle-Master forklifts to the company during 2017.
