Five Monaghan teams are in Ulster Club Football Championship action this weekend, having been shown the way by Castleblayney’s hurlers last Sunday. Castleblayney won their second Ulster Club Junior Hurling Championship title with a dominant second-half performance against Na Magha in Dungannon. Amy Ní Amaill, a Transition Year student in Coláiste Oiriall and stalwart with Glaslough Harriers, is the 2014 All-Ireland Schools’ Track and Field Intermediate 1500 metres champion. She won her title in Tullamore on Saturday and had almost five seconds to spare on her nearest rival, Emma O’Brien from Dominican College, Wicklow.
