MONAGHAN A GROWING COUNTY – CENSUS FIGURES INDICATE 1.5% POPULATION RISE
Monaghan has seen an increase in its population, according to the results of the 2016 Census. The first set of results of Census 2016 has been published showing a national population increase of 3.8% since April 2011. The population of the Republic of Ireland stands now at almost 4.8 million. Monaghan’s population is 61,386, up by 1.5% over the last five years. The CSO results show the average age of people has risen in Monaghan to 37.4.
