Truagh won their first SFL title since 1975 when they put Carrickmacross away in extra-time of last Sunday’s final in Castleblayney. Long-time league leaders Carrick recovered from conceding a 14th-minute goal to hold a narrow lead for much of this game and the winning line was in sight when they went two up inside the last five minutes.
A brace of late points gave Truagh a lifeline, however, before they dominated extra-time to end their 43-year wait for top-flight silverware. Truagh had a series of….
