MINISTER MOVES TO ENSURE BETTER CROSS-BORDER SECURITY FOR TRAVELLING PUBLIC

WIDE-RANGING improved cross-border security for the travelling public was advocated yesterday (Wed) by the Minister for Justice Mr. Charles Flanagan T.D., when he addressed the 46th Interpol (International Police Organization) European Regional Conference in Dublin. The conference was attended by a number of security representatives from both sides of the border. Minister Flanagan announced a start date of May 25th for the Irish Passenger Information Unit, the body which will receive Passenger Name Recognition (PNR) data from carriers and exchange data and…
