COUNCILLORS WELCOME REINTRODUCTION OF LOCAL IMPROVEMENT SCHEME

There was a long debate about the Local Improvement Scheme (LIS) at Monday’s meeting of Monaghan County Council. Although the reintroduction of LIS was universally welcomed, there were differences of opinion on whether the lane/private road fund should be used to refurbish these lanes on a chronological basis, with special cases prioritised (as used to be the case), or whether it should be done on a worstaffected, first-served basis.
