€40 MILLION REPAIR BILL FOR COUNTY MONAGHAN ROADS
The cost of repairing the local roads in Co Monaghan is approximately €40 million.
The exact quantification of the cost of repair, provided to the February meeting of Monaghan Co Council in response to a question submitted by Fianna Fáil representative Seamus Coyle, is €39,849,455.
The breakdown of this figure per Municipal District area is: Monaghan, €9,906,480; Ballybay-Clones, €14,589,440; Carrickmacross-Castleblayney, €15,353,535.
“The total cost of restoring the local road network currently identified is approximately €40 million and will take nine-ten years to complete based on current levels of funding,” Councillor Coyle was informed in a written response.
