Gardaí have “a total dedicated effort” with regard to monitoring safety on the N2 Dublin – Derry road, Garda Superintendent Alan Cunningham stated this week.
Superintendent Cunningham’s comment came at a meeting of Co Monaghan Joint Policing Committee on Tuesday, where the issue of safety on this road was firmly on the agenda. He was responding to concerns aired by councillors in relation to the number of fatalities that have occurred on the road in recent times.
