POLICE along the Monaghan/Armagh border are now involved in a new type of ‘open and shut’ case in which several farmers are being targeted by travelling criminals!.
The gangs have struck at lands near public roads and snatched galvanized and iron gates, some open, and others closed—where they were containing livestock in fields.
Last week, the gate thieves struck at a number of farms in South Armagh.
Earlier, a number of gates were taken from isolated lands in the Republic.
