A 22-YEAR-OLD Carrickmacross man who assaulted another man at a local food outlet has been ordered to carry out 240 hours’ community service — in lieu of a two-year prison term — for what the judge at Monaghan Circuit Court on Tuesday described as a brutal assault that resulted in serious injuries for the victim.
