Fine Gael TD for Cavan/Monaghan Sean Conlan has denied allegations of assault arising from an incident in his family public house in Ballybay on Sunday week last.
Deputy Conlan was arrested by Gardaí and interviewed in relation to the incident when he voluntarily presented himself at Castleblayney Garda Station on Tuesday morning.
The TD was later released without charge. Gardaí say that a file on the matter is to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
