FORMER MONAGHAN PUB OWNER ORDERED TO LEAVE PREMISES SOLD BY RECEIVERS

AN ORDER restraining Mr Feargal Deery of Drumhillock, Monaghan, from entering the premises formerly known as ‘Master Deery’s’ at 27/28 Market Street, Monaghan was granted at the High Court on Tuesday of this week, on foot of an application made on behalf of a company known as Wardglade Ltd, whose registered address is at Dunoge, Carrrickmacross, Co Monaghan.

In making its application to the hearing presided over by Mr Justice Paul Gilligan, Wardglade Ltd had stated in an affidavit that Mr Deery had unlawfully entered and occupied the premises on Tuesday 23rd June last.

It had also stated that the premises known as Master Deery’s was previously owned by a company called Dunmill Ltd, and that this company had entered receivership on 13th May 2013.

Wardglade, which outlined how it had purchased the premises from the receivers in January of this year, argued that while it understood that Mr Deery was raising issues as to the legality of the sale, it did not believe he had any legal capacity to do so, given that Dunmill Ltd was the former owner and was in receivership.
