NEW PLAQUE TO PATRICK KAVANAGH

kavanaghThe Monaghan Association in Dublin will unveil a new plaque in memory of Inniskeen poet Patrick Kavanagh in Dublin on Saturday 1st November, 2014 at 3pm.

The plaque will be unveiled at 51, Upper Drumcondra Road, Dublin 9, which was Patrick Kavanagh’s first Dublin address when he went there in 1939.

The unveiling will be performed by the writer Brendan Lynch who is one of the remaining few who knew Kavanagh during his time in Dublin.
Chairman of the Monaghan Association, Dublin, Peter J. McDonnell said they were delighted to sponsor the plaque which will add to the many memorials and plaques which are testament to the affection that Dublin has for one of its much loved writers.
