Fine Gael member of Monaghan Town Council Tommy Hagan this week called for the extension of the hours of operation of the Minor Injury Unit at Monaghan General Hospital.
Colr Hagan said that recent much publicised delays in ambulance services arriving to attend at medical cases in the Monaghan area, plus the needs of local sporting bodies and the prospects of future industrial expansion in the north of the county, made up the components of a very strong case which the Health Service Executive must take heed of.
