GARDA COMMENDATION FOR COMMUNITY VIGILANCE IN BURGLARY DETECTION

Community vigilance which had led to the apprehension of a number of burglary suspects was commended by Garda Inspector Pat McMorrow at Tuesday night’s meeting of the Monaghan Town Joint Policing Committee.
Inspector McMorrow also told the meeting that while “creeper” burglaries – in which criminals broke into houses to steal the keys of motor vehicles – were still a problem in the area, he felt that many people were now taking heed of Garda advice to keep keys in secure locations.
