Gardai in Monaghan are investigating the theft of gates from two church properties in recent days.
Cast-iron gates were stolen from St Mary’s Church, Magherarney, Smithboro between 6pm last Thursday and 9am last Friday morning.
Wrought-iron gates were also taken from the Church of Ireland graveyard in Broomfield at some time last Sunday or Monday.
A spokesman from Monaghan Garda Station confirmed to the Northern Standard that gardai were following a line of enquiry into the thefts.
